A set of global hydrometerological composite products that are generated at SSD from various sensors including AMSU/MHS, SSM/I, SSMIS, TRMM, AMSR-E and Quickscat. These products are in McIDAS format, and used by SAB precipitation analysts on daily basis to provide quantitative satellite-derived precipitation estimates and satellite guidance to National Weather Service. The AMSU and SSM/I composites are currently made available on AWIPS to NWS field officers.
